Huons acquires Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status from Korea Customs Service

Huons (CEO Song Soo-young) has recently achieved the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification from the Korea Customs Service.

On April 11, Huons announced that it received an AEO status in both export and import categories simultaneously. This certification was granted during the first AEO deliberation committee meeting of 2025, held on March 21.

The AEO certification is an international standard adopted by the World Customs Organization (WCO) that recognizes businesses as secure and compliant with customs regulations. The AEO means a company approved by the Korea Customs Service is to satisfy the authorization requirements in compliance with legal regulations, internal control system, financial stability and safety management.

Furthermore, companies recognized as the AEOs get various benefits such as reduced inspection rates and priority clearance processing under the mutual recognition agreements (MRAs) made with 25 other countries that have also implemented the AEO system, including major trading partners like the U.S. and China. Currently, AEO program has been implemented in 97 countries including the United States, China, and European Union (EU).

Companies with AEO status receive significant advantages, such as △ reduced inspection rate △ priority processing in shipment △ exemption from certain requirements in customs clearance △ support services from a dedicated Account Manager regarding customs administration issues.
